Tonight I was practicing and doing very well, when suddenly I go a bloody nose. I never have trouble with this and I barely ever have to blow my nose. I've only had about 3 bloody noses in my life. Nothing has hurt lately, but I do play for a fair amount of time every day.
Has anybody else had trouble with this? Does anybody have any suggestions as to why it happened? Any answers would be appreciated...thankyou.

Its probably just be a random bloody nose. I wouldn't worry about it unless it goes on for a really long time, like over 20-30 minutes, or happens a lot. We all get an occasional bloody nose. If it happens another 2 or 3 times in the next week, talk to your doctor.

Could it be that you have taken some medicine recently? The ubiquitous aspirin for instance is known to have a slight coagulation inhibiting effect which can lead to nose bleeding in certain circumstances.
I second Steve's advice - watch it and if does it again, ask your doctor.

is it particularly hot where you are at the moment? or have you been doing lots of excercise lately, or perhaps been upside down playing on a climbing frame or rewiring under the floor..these things have all given me nose bleeds in the past.

Since you're in MN and the air is becoming drier as the weather gets colder, perhaps your nasal passages/sinuses are drying out and cracking. Sometimes (when I'm in a cold, dry climate) this causes me to get a bloody nose and get sinus headaches.

That "rewiring under the floor" sounds sinister....

Why not just give your family doctor a call? Ask the nurse to call you and tell her the problem. If it's something to be concerned about she'll refer you to the dr. They might ask you to come in for a blood pressure check or something simple like that. Better to call than to worry.

Thanks guys for all your input. I think Heather is probably right about it being dry here, particularly in my house because it is an old house, so I'll maybe invest in a humidifier for where I practice. Thank you...
