Having just had my clarinet completely overhauled for a week, I can say Steven Fox did a great job for a reasonable price. Not only did he overhaul the instrument, he also fixed a couple of cracks that were in the instrument (and one of the causes of chronic flatness in my instrument), the instrument sounds and feels like a brand new instrument. Even my boyfriend, a pianist, said it sounds amazing! He caught many problems that the people I used before for fixing my instrument, did not catch.
So, if you are in ever in need of an overhaul in the GTA, consider taking it to him.

Meri, I can second the recommendation. BTW, how do you rate getting him to do an overhaul for you? He's been busy building new instruments and didn't want to do repairs for awhile.

the NZSO had a pair of Basset horns made to order from Steven Fox and he delivered them in time for a Mozart Requiem performance. The section have since raved to me that these instruments are great.
