Well "Yogurt". I think you're problem is this. You are not inhaling enough to get enough wind to blow into the instrument. I also think that part of the problem is that you put yourself down too much. I am pretty sure that you don't "suck" You probably just need more practice. If you would like lessons I am an expert clarinet player and I just happen to know you live in my area. Call me...you know the number!!!

Well, Yogurt, you sure seem to have a low opinion of yourself. Blowing shouldn't be a problem unless you have a serious health problem that would require more than a music teacher to treat. Maybe Jen can help you, if not with lessons, perhaps with some good old fashioned encouragement.
Have you had your instrument evaluated? It may be that the instrument isn't in good working order. Nothing worse than a leaky horn to discourage you. Just curious - how long have you been tooting?

Perhaps your reed is too hard or poorly adjusted. For most people, a VD #3-31/2 is adequate (this of course depends also on your mp tip-opening). Call Jen and get some pro advice.
