Hi I would like to know what brand and model of mouthpiece do you recommend to obtain a big projection and a good sound quality.
I have played 10 years with a Buffet RC Prestige clarinet, with B45 Lyre mouthpiece, 3 1/2 Vandoren V12, or Gonzalez F.O.F reeds and Optimum ligature.
I have tried another models of Vandoren mouthpieces, but I feel that something stops my sound.
Now I had the opportunity to buy a couple of Leblanc Opus ( the first, not the Opus II) to an incredible price, and the feeling of no big sound and no projection it has increased.
I would like to know what things do you recommend to achieve better projection, quality and quantity of sound,with this instruments ( mouthpiece,reeds, ligature, barrels) all that you can suggest.
Lomax, Fobes, Zinner, Pyne ,Grabner, Hawkins, Behn, Gennusa? Wich…?
Regretably in my country don’t sell another products besides Vandoren, therefore, I don´t have the opportunity to experience for myself other possibilities, for that reason I need help to know what to buy outside of my country, basing me on your advice.
I really need a mouthpiece that work well with my Leblanc Opus clarinets and helps me to increase my actual sound preserving a good sound quality.

I currently play on the "old" Concerto. You're not going to like my answer. I have been having great success with a Vandoren 5RV Lyre 13 Series Profile 88 with Nr 4 Rue Lepic reeds.
It may not work for you but........

I do most of my playing on a Leblanc Concerto, and am using a Ridenour mouthpiece which seems to suit it very well.

The curve shape of Vandoren mouthpieces may vary, even with the same model number... your B45 should have a "Lyre" or "88" marked on the side.
I would suggest keeping staying with this curve and trying an M13 or M30.
Be aware that mouthpieces may "feel" slightly different while playing, even if measurements seem exactly the same.

I don't know what "curve" means -- I don't recognize it as a word of art where mouthpieces are concerned. In any case I can't think of any two mouthpieces with less in common than the B45 and M13 except that they both come in the same color box!
Alex, is (Dr.) Roberto Garcia still principal clarinet of the SODRE orchestra? If he is still active you might want to consult with him -- and give him my fond regards!

Larry, I have bad news for you,(Dr.) Roberto Garcia it passed away about six years.I'm sorry...
I never have chance to take classes with him,but I could listen him, and he have an enormous and beautiful sound.
I want this big sound.

Thanks so much for muddying the waters, Larry.
If you look at a mouthpiece from the side, you will likely perceive a curve from the tip toward the back.
It is also referred to as the "lay", but I don't suppose you get that, either.
In the Vandoren "family" of mouthpieces, the curve shape is consistent, if the tip openings vary from less open to more open.

Maybe the sound issue isn't the instrument or mouthpiece but you. Some people find playing louder and bigger harder than playing softly. There are a number of things that you can do to open up your sound.
One of the easiest is to stand next to a wall and play like you normally do. Playing to a wall will reflect back, to some degree, what your audience hears. Then play as loud as you can, then louder, and finally come back to something between where you started and where you ended.
Spend five minutes a day doing this for a week and then report back. Let us know what you think. Or get the best instructor you can find and afford and see what that person hears when you play.
