Hi,
I'm interested in buying a clarinet but am being totally inundated with models that i know nothing about. I used to play for 3 years back in 1987 and want to resume playing now. I don't have a huge budget so I'm after something that's reasonably cheap to start with but not nasty. I saw the other posts about the Cibaili ones which i was suspicious about.
Can anyone recommend any decent priced beginner models?
Many thanks,
Shelley

The Buffet E11 is a pretty good--if not the best--student clarinet. It sounds great, is reasonably in tune, plays quite nicely and--best of all--is quite affordable. However, a used Buffet R13 may only cost a few dollars more and that would be "the way for you to go" (imho). Whatever, try before you buy.

Having a teacher (whether you have one or not...just pay them for their time) try before you buy isn't a bad idea, either.
