I have a Bb clarinet I can't identify

Help, I have a Bb clarinet I can't identify.

It was purchased by my parents before 1967. It is in a Conn case and has the serial number 980899. It has Conn Director stamped on the bottom piece of this clarinet. I believe this is a wood clarinet, but am not sure. Where can I go to get more information on this clarinet?

Well you have identified it. It's a Conn "director" model, at least the bottom stack is. Typically the Conn logo would be on the other parts too. The serial number dates it to 1962-1963. It's most likely wood but Conn made a lot of horns from plastics too. Might could tell a little more from a photo or two. The Director was a decent intermediate sort of clarinet but nothing special.
