Hello fellow boarders!
Myself and my tutor are looking for a number to play at an upcoming jazz night for clarinet (me) and Alto (him). Last time we played "Strike up the band" which worked well.
Does anyone know of anything similar as we are somewhat stumped?

check the repertoire and recordings of the Jimmy Noone, Earl Hines, Joe Poston, et al band. Kind of a unique instrumentation (clarinet and alto sax front line).
some tunes: Apex Blues, Monday Date

Kenny Davern and Ken Peplowski have an entire CD with this instrumentation as the front line. Interestingly, Mr. Peplowski plays alto sax rather than clarinet on most of the tracks. The CD is available from a number of online sources. Most of the cuts are fairly mainstream and are widely played jazz standards.
