I have just been given a Series 2000 Boosey in very fine condition...does anyone out there know much about this particular model...it is wonderfully designed and has nice keywork modifications...

So I ask thee...what is this instrument all about???

What's the serial number?

Better still, have you got any pictures?

It's from around 1962-64ish going by the serial number (which should be stamped at the top end of both joints).

And now, a thousand more questions:

I assume it has 'MADE IN ENGLAND' above the thumbrest as well, but has it got nickel or silver plated keys and does it have a bell ring or not?

Here's an easier way around the questions - does it resemble the clarinet pictured in the following link (apart from the name stamped onto it)?

It does not resemble the clarinet in the picture as my clarinet also has a low f key adjustment as well

For what its worth . . .

I have a clarinet that resembles the picture, has s/n 182xxx, has been asserted to "look like a Boosey and Hawkes," has a bell ring, is marked Markis de luxe + crown + The British Band Instrument Co Ltd on th bell . . .

I believe it to be an intermediate level instrument . . . it plays well but is not of the same caliber as my Buffet R13 . . .
