Does anyone know of a voice coach that teaches circular breathing to singers. The late Frank Sinatra was famed to sing up to 8 bars using this techniquue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Despite what people may say about Frank Sinatra, I don't think that circular breathing is possible for singers.
Circular breathing is a technique where wind players can hold air in their mouth and blow it into the instrument while breathing in through their nose. There is no equivalent in singing. The sound is produced in your throat, so you can't gain anything by holding air in your mouth. The only place you can hold the air is in your lungs. You can't breath in and out at the same time.
What singers can develop is superb breath control, where they can produce a large sound for a long time on just a single breath. I suspect this is what Frank Sinatra is famed for.

I have to agree with Eoin. I sing as well as play the Clarinet and I find it impossible to breath in and out whilst singing. However I can sing for a very long time in one breath by supporting the notes from my lungs. Sing from your diaphragm and lungs, not from your throat, and you'll get the hang of it. Just a tip: I was taught NEVER to breath through my nose whilst singing - always through the mouth.

By the way, has anyone noticed how much Americain musical language there is on the board? Can anyone in Europe agree?
Quarter Note = a Crotchet in England (I think) - it might be a Semibreve though????????
