Ok, a bunch of you probably already know this, but I just found out this weekend and wanted to share it so everyone knows!
My friend and I were warming up to play a duet at a dinner dance, when two terrible things happened. A screw came out on my clarinet and fell into the grass and the cork came off on of my friend's keys, so we were panicking. I went looking through my bag to find some change to call my mom to bring our other, crappy ones, when out dropped this eye glasses repair kit that my Mom bought and I never use.
Inside was a tiny little screw driver and ity-bity screws! And one fit! Yeah! And there were these nose pads with sticky sides that fit pretty well on her key. It worked well enough for her to play until she got it replaced.
Anyway I just thought that was really cool! I have one in each of my cases now!It only cost $2 for each kit and it is a small round tude that easily fits into any case! Much cheaper than the offical repair kits! Anyway, I know a bunch of you probably already knew this, but I wanted to share and make sure everyone knew! :o)

Yep! Those little eyeglasses screwdrivers are great for adjusting the screws on our clarinets!

That is a cool idea! I never thought of trying an eyeglasses repair kit. (I use a jeweller's screwdriver kit with six sizes of itty-bitty screwdrivers, the bigger ones to fit saxes.) I'll bet you can find assortments of just the eyeglasses screws, too, for refills. For someone who's not doing repair work, your idea sounds a whole lot more economical than buying assortments of screws from instrument repair catalogues.
