Check the classifieds section on this bulletin board, local music stores and mail order music stores (see resources on the menu at the bottom of this bulletin board). You can also check your local newspaper ads, pawn shops, and online auctions. However these last three options are risky unless you know exactly what to look for to determine if the instrument is in good shape.
By the way, what do you mean by worn out? Almost all instruments can be returned to like new condition with a complete overall. Depending on the brand and model of clarinet that she now has, this might be a better route. So what is the brand and model that she is playing now?
Many of us on this bulletin board play quite old instruments but we keep them well maintained. My own instrument is approximately 45 years old. The one my daughter uses is 60 years old. Both play beautifully.

Dee's commentary and advice is excellent as usual, I cant recall when I bought a brand-new cl or oboe. Many of us, retirees or nearly-so, buy up, repair-restore, quality cl's for up-and-coming cl'ists in our vicinities. I would suggest a "Wanted" posting in our Classifieds, to see what turns up, since buying via EBAY has the "pig in the poke" character, never as good as advertized!! Don
