I would like suggestions for a MP for an intermediate clarinet (old wooden Pedler and Co in good shape). The MP that came with it is a Buffet. It plays....okay....but it is a little beat up and I am sure a new MP would be a good thing. I can't afford to spend a lot of money. What do you suggest?

I am guessing the age around the 1940s (same age as the clarinet itself?) It has a couple of small chips on the facing. I could have it smoothed down but considering the age I though splurging for a mewMP might be a better idea.

Well done, Michele. It's hard to go wrong with a Clark Fobes creation.
If your old Buffet mouthpiece is made of hard rubber, you might wish to put it away for now and have it refaced to your exact specification at some point in the future.

A Vandoren M13. Mine blows very easily. In either the standard or 88 model.
Best advice from a newbee - try them out. Find the mouth piece that is a good fit for you. I did not know that music stores have demonstrators on hand and then use special solutions to sterilize them after you have tried them out. So try before you buy. Bring your own reeds though and your clarinet.
