Little known secret. Steve at Mills in Redmond is a clarinet player and does excellent work. It's rare that I recommend a guy that works outta a music shop because of the number of student jobs they do, but I have been exceptionally happy with this guy.

You're only 2.5 hours away from Morrie Backun in Vancouver, BC. If you can spare the time, he's worth the drive.

Kind of surprised that not mentioned yet is Scott Granlund, a master clarinet and sax repairman in downrown Seattle. Look at his website:

Stan'

I would secon Scott Granlund from what my friend tells me he is very good.

When the horn is ready drop by the Eagles on Thursday night and sit in with the band.

Scott is very good, but he was mentioned at the top of the page, so I thought I'd throw some other ideas out there. If you have a finicky dog, the last time I saw him his shop was in back of a high-end pet supply store.

Yet another recommendation for Granlund. Great repair and an engaging individual.

PS: Hi Grant ...... It is my Selmer 9 that is giving me trouble but my Leblanc LL is OK. Thanks for the invitation to the Eagles band but I have to improve first.

Stan, feel free to sit in with the Woodinville community band. You can find more info at the link in my sigline. We have some really good clarinetists but we are always short of players. We meet Thursdays at Leota Jr. High at 8 - 9:30 PM.
