With all the good ideas for an Emergency Repair Kit, what about a case to keep it in? Not everything will fit into a Clarinet Case! When I got a new briefcase at work, I kept the old one to hold things like spare reeds, as well as some of the items mentioned by others. Even the remains of a roll of paper towels fits easily.
Actually, a small briefcase may be too big to be practical. What about a purse? What about a pencil box? What about a Rubbermaid plastic container? You get the idea!

I use a small plastic tool/tackle box with a tray to keep my extra supplies and repair equipment in.

I keep my supplies in a couple of collectors tins in the corner where I keep my instruments, music and stand

Heck, I'm a typical engineer with a messy desk. I keep my repair kit scattered around the house.

Rick2:
I don't feel so bad now. I have things scattered everywhere, but most of it is in the nooks and crannies of my rolltop desk where my clarinet and all of its "stuff" stays. Everything I could possibly want for my clarinet (the horn, the tools, reeds, tuner, metronome, tripod support stand, music stand, music, gig bags, drill books, etc.) are all within arm's reach in that special corner of the room. The good thing is that if it starts to look too much like a rat's nest instead of a study/hobby area, I can close the top of the desk and quickly hide almost all of the evidence. This trick works great for no notice house pests (oops, house guests).

I keep my repair stuff in a small plastic tool/tackle box; and keep that, along with music stands, instrument stands, spare mouthpieces, a towel, a flashlight, a clipboard with a pad of manuscript paper, transducers, mikes, cabling, and my trusty water bottle in one of those soft, duffle-type gym bags.

I keep all my stuff in the big front pocket of my orley case...it has a pocket on the fron big enough for my reed case, screwdrivers, cleaning rags, cork grease, pencil, and of course my folded up music of my solo I am working on for solo and ensemble...it works well for me since I am in high school and can't easily carry around a box of extra stuff...
