Rossler concerto in E-flat

Hi everyone,

My clarinet professor told me before I went on holiday break to look for a certain piece of music for my spring jury.

He told me that I need to buy the Concerto in E-flat Major by Rossler, otherwise known as Rosetti, but it needs to be the version edited by Voxman and published by Rubank.

He told me it was fairly easy to find but my local music store doesn't carry it and they have never been too swift in getting special-order music. I can't find this edition anywhere on the Internet either.

Does anyone know of an Internet music store where I could order it? Please help...I'd like to be able to order it as soon as possible.

I've found a couple of other editions, but my teacher is adamant that he wants me to play the Rubank edition.

I just bought a copy of this within the last month or so from Luyben music. You might try them.

Just scroll down beyond Rossini to Rossler/Voxman. They list it at $5.95 but actually it was around $7.95 (plus shipping).

BTW, the other editions you found may or may not be the same concerto. In the liner notes for his recording of two of the Rossler/Rosetti concertos, Dieter Klocker claims that there are a total of 6 of this composer's clarinet concertos still in existence. I suspect that some are unpublished. Both of the concertos on Klocker's recording are in Eb. Some of the others may also be in that key. (The one edited by Mr. Voxman is the same work as the one listed as No. 2 on the recording.) The concerto, in its original form, may actually be fairly simple with the performer intended to improvise ornaments extensively. There is considerable difference in nature and location between the ornaments on the recording and the ones in Mr. Voxman's edition.)
