Last night we had our first concert in a new annual event that’s going to take place every Nobel week, the week before Dec 10 that is the day of the Nobel price ceremony. For this first concert given for the price winners with families, the royal family, the government as well as for a few lucky mortals we had Yo-Yo Ma playing Dvorak. He also brought his Mongolian friends in the “Silk road Project” giving a marvelous show with Mongolian folklore music with extraordinary singing. The orchestra played Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. The concert was a big success and Yo-Yo Ma’s playing was of cause excellent.
The idea with this annual concert is to give the Nobel price a more cultural status and it’s going to be broadcasted in many countries.
