 Mouthpiece history of the B2?

Hi,

I have seen over time the mouthpiece model name B2 come up. Playnick had/has one. BG has one. Leitner & Krause has one as also Wells Chicago had one.

Is there anyone on the bulletin board that knows the history of this model?

What or who does the "B" refer to?
