I'm relocating to Schenectady in July, 2000.
As an adult beginner (previous flute study, so reading charts is not a problem) I wish to continue with a teacher.
Anyone out there no of a good instructor in the Capitol cities?

I don't know personally of one, but my friend had this same problem. Once you get there, go to the local highschool or even college. Ask the students for the names of thier teachers. You could ask the director, but a student can give you inside information on what the teacher is like, what they expect, cost, location, attitude, etc...
Heck, a student is always in need of money, and a good one can be cheaper and just as good as an older teacher, esp. if you are a beginner. And if that student is majoring in music education. The choice is yours.
This happens alot. People(adults)come in to our band room about once a month at least to ask about teachers. good luck! And you are going to have a lot of fun playing this way cool instrument!:o)
