Since you have recorded the three Crusell concertos and I assume they were played on a Bb clarinet here is a question for you. In "Clarinet Concerto No 1 Op.1 in E flat major" does the title refer to the concert key or the key in which the clarinet is playing?
Further, if you have ever played the Crusell duets do you have any opinion on whether they should be done on Bb or C clarinets? For example, "Duet #1 in F" in my transcription is actually written in the key of F major. It's the Hinrichsen No. 1421a transcription from the ICA Library and there is no reference as to the key of the clarinets which should be used.

Bill, while I am not Tony, the title key signature is the concert key signature. So, in Concerto 1, the clarinet is playing Eb concert. As far as the duets, it is not really clear. You could play them on A clarinet, Eb, Ab, whatever. Every time I have performed these duets and every time I have heard them performed, the performances are on Bb clarinet.

The truth is, I don't know. The fact that Crusell didn't specify the instrument means, I suppose, that you have a choice.
I can imagine that they might sound rather well on C clarinets, though I haven't tried.

The key in the title of a piece refers to the concert key, doesn't it? I mean, for example, the clarinet part of K.622 in A is in the written key of C concert, since it's meant for a basset clarinet in A.
So it makes sense to me that a piece in F, which is also in the written key of F, would have to be played on a C clarinet, otherwise it is going to end up in Eb concert.
Not that it really matters; the case of a duet for two clarinets, as long as they are both in the same key it will work.
