Where did this come from?

I'm hoping someone can give me some information on a clarinet I have. I have tried a number of Music stores, and the have been pretty vague, only saying it may have been made in Italy, and may be about 100 years old.
It is one piece other than the Bell and mouthpiece and apparently has a few extra (E?) keys that aren't normally there.
Stamped on it are "Ruchoi & Omer" "Jos. Glass" "Graslitz" Stamboul".
This is on the Bell, main body, and the approx 4" piece below the mouthpiece. All of these words together can probably be covered by a dime.
I'm not looking to sell, just to get some info before I give it to my son.

From the markings, all I can tell you is that it probably ain't Italian, as Graslitz was the German name of the city in Bohemia currently known as Kraslice (now part of the Czech Republic) --- it was a center of musical instrument manufacturing in Central/Eastern Europe and is where the modern Amati conglomerate is based.

Not much help but Graslitz/Kraslice is a town in the western end of the current Cz Republic....long time center of wind instrument manufacture. Stamboul is a prior old name for Constantinople/Istanbul. Doubtful of Italian origin.

Sounds like a Full Boehm system to me, with the "extra keys". Can you post photos?

Last part of your message worries me a bit, when you say you want to give it to your song, is he a player already or would that be his beginnign instrument?

Since no one else said this I would guess I missed something but, worth mentioning.

Yeah. That kind of horn my be too advanced for a young'un. The extra keys could confuse a beginner, it may be a little too heavy to wield, might be too valuable to let a kid have, might be harder play, etc etc.

Just send it to me and I will mail you my Bundy.

My first GOOD cl was a P-M Full Boehm, as I recall I was a 5 year "veteran" at that time, going into high school. I had no trouble getting familiar with the 4 additions, believe in a year or so, I began working on it [elementary tweaking]. I still have it, and have improved its response and tuning of the higher 12ths !! Have fun, be not afraid ! Don
