 Teaching Modes

Alone with the major scales, the three forms of the minor scales, the modes were taught as well. Does any instructor out there continue to teach the modes to their students?

Do you mean by "private" teachers, Llewsrac?

If so, yes, some individual instructors I know teach modes but in my experience they're not emphasized nearly as much as they are in a theory/composition class. Private teachers I know emphasize modes more to their more advanced students who show an interest in improvisational performance.

You can study modes on your own initiative, too, if you wish - they're not overwhelmingly complicated :)

My teacher has introduced dorian and mixolydian modes. I did express an interest in improv
