Selmer Rosewood BBb

Good morning,

For those of you fortunate ones who have tried the Selmer Bb contrabass clarinet in rosewood, what were your impressions? Besides the rarity appeal that it has, does it offer any advantage over the Leblanc models?

Also, does it break down into 4 major pieces (curved neck pipe, upper joint, lower joint, bell)? Can it be played comfortably in the seating position?

I've played this instrument for a few performances and recording sessions, and I've enjoyed it. There is an adjustable endpin that makes it very comfortable to play seated. It disassembles into an upper joint and a lower joint....very big joints that go into a very, very large case.

As for comparing it to other makes/models, I don't have much to go on. From experience and common sense, I would choose a rosewood instrument over one made entirely of metal.
