I was looking on ebay at a clarinet on auction. The seller said it was a Buffet c-12. He also said it was a semi-professional model. I have been looking around, and I have not yet seen any information about a c-12. I'm not sure this person knows what they are talking about. I emailed them and have gotten no reply. Could someone please tell me what a C-12 is or even if it exists? I'm a high school student looking for a reliable instrument to audition for college on in a few years. I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.

Steph,
There were some postings here on the BB about the C-12 and apparently it is real. The messages appeared in August, Click on the Go to Thread link above this message. The full BB will appear with a different set of links on the top of all the messages. Click Search the Forum. Simply type c-12 into the search field and the messages about c-12 will pop up. Good luck.

Yes, I tried out one at the "Horn Trader"'s in Ok City, maybe a year ago. I'm not at all knowledgable about Buffets, but it played very well, except for a minor, repairable, pad clearance [from a tone hole]. I may have started the thread asking about the C12, found out some info there, and on looking in old ICA magazines [late 1980's], found Buffet ads which included it. It seemed to fit in the hierarchy just below the "standard" R13, so I believe we concluded it prob. was an R13 with a very slight defect. I nearly bought it for $6-700, just didnt need another pro or semi-pro cl with my LeB's and Sel. Luck,Don

Don;s right. The C12 is just below the R13. It's also known as the International model. That's on the Buffet site.
