There's a gathering in Whitehouse NJ in April (I JUST sent the information to mark so check the calendar for April for details once he gets a chance to put it up).
I was wondering who (if any of you) will be attending. Out of curiousity.

All announcements must be sent via the announcements@woodwind.org email address. Please do not post them here (it's in the rules, too).
I hate taking the info from PDFs, too - plain text is preferable.
GBK has editing rights to the BBoard, but not the other areas.

I don't get it. Clarinet events (usually ones that cost money) are talked about here all the time. What's the problem?
Free event. . .shouldn't people get to talk about it if they are going? Or review it? Mannes CLarinet day has had many topics and no one got yelled at.
Here's the information about the event.
[ Deleted. I just mentioned above what to do. Please obey the rules ... Mark C. ]

Dear Mystery Science Dieter,
Besides being in the rules, there are a number of reasons NOT to put it here:
1) The Announcements section, right up there on the right, is there for this very reason
2) Links here scroll off. The Announcements don't.
3) Stale links/announcements are a big problem to edit out later.
4) In the cases you mention, people were DISCUSSING the event, after the fact, and not announcing it.
5) Sending it to announcements@woodwind.org is the right way to do it.

Seems like pretty inconsistent enforcement, frankly.
and #4 is simply not correct, sorry.
What exactly is the harm done if people find out about an event, even one held April 9th in NJ?

Oldwick NJ is in Hunterdon County just off I-78 two exits west of I-287. Many poor people like the Johnsons and the Whitmans (of Christie Todd fame) live right there in miserable run down 14,000 square foot tarpaper shacks. The new Trump golf course is also right up the street.

Well, it's getting close to that time, with a week to go. I live next to Wayne, NJ. So if anyone from around there would like to carpool, let me know. Contact me by email please.
The stipulations are that I can only take another four people maximum (I recently bought a car that would support that many), and that I plan on being there from open till close. So if you can't wake up that early, or can't stay that late, then don't email, cause I can't drive you.
It's simply an open invitation from one clarinetist to others for transportation.

I'll be driving from Brooklyn. I have a big car and can take up to 4 passengers. Note that it begins at 9:00 am, and the location is 45 miles west of NYC, so I plan to get under way at 7:00 am.
Anyone in Brooklyn or Manhattan can email me.
