Hey everyone
I know the new packaging has been discussed, but what about the reeds? I've been playing on 3 1/4 for a while now, and my latest order was the new packaging.
The strange thing is that my new reeds are significantly harder than the old ones of the same strength. I could play the older ones straight from the box without much adjustment but these ones I've had to really file down a lot, making them less than desirable to play in some cases. I just got a box of 3's today and they seem just right - which is exactly what the 'old' boxes of 3 1/4 were. I also notice on most of them, the tip shape has changed, it's now kinda lop-sided and seems consistent from box to box.
Anyone else find them different? Or is it just me?

I agree. I just opened my 3.25 a couple weeks ago and the seem to be harder. Maybe it is just the selection of cane this time around.

Anyone ask Mr. Shapiro? I'd email him and ask if you're allowed to post his response so that way we'll ALL know what's going on (I figure he'd be the best one to inform us as to what, if anything, is going on)
Could be a change in the weather too. It's about that time.
