I just purchased a clarinet. Not at all happy with the mouthpiece. I play Alto sax and went through 11 mpc's before I settling on the one that satisfied me. What I need now is advice on what mouthpiece I should start with, until I have learned enough and become good enough to start looking for an upscale piece. On my sax I use a Rousseau Classic mpc. One mouthpiece I haave been looking at is Vandoren " 5rv Lyre 13 ". Any comment or suggestions would be helpful.

If you're just starting on the instrument, a 5RV Lyre should do you just fine. I played on mine 5 years before buying a more expensive designer mouthpiece. If you can, go to a music store and try out multiple models, and even multiple mouthpieces of the same model.
