The Venice Baroque Orchestra http://www.venicebaroqueorchestra.net/ is currently touring North America. Tonight, I attended their sold out performance in Westhampton Beach, NY.
For a VERY enjoyable evening of Baroque music played masterfully on period instruments, this would be a concert to mark on your calendar.
Although there were no clarinets (actually a very pleasant tonal change) the orchestra clearly is a well schooled, highly proficient ensemble that enjoys what they are doing.
Their enthusiasm is infectious. The standing-room-only audience demanded 3 encores...
Vivaldi and his colleagues never sounded so alive and new...GBK

Mark,
I wonder why this post wasn't instantly purged and castigated to the "announcements" portion of your board.
It appears very similar to the one I posted a few days ago regarding the University of Texas Wind Ensemble world premiere performance at Carnegie Hall tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM.

Because it's not an announcement of a specific date; it's a general "check to see if it's coming near you" after someone has gone to the concert.

I do not know their touring itinerary, as it was not listed anywhere.
I believe they will be in the USA for another month...GBK
