 jaw shifting problem
Author: Suzanne

I was wondering if anyone could help or has had a problem similar to mine. Lately when I try to play, my jaw has been slowly shifting involuntarily backward, causing my lower lip to slip out of its proper placement on the reed. It has been causing me incoordination and pain in my jaw and sometimes my right ear, particularly when I try to sustain higher notes or articulate. I was hoping someone might have some advice or tips for how I can fix this.

It's easy to forget that we have muscles that control our jaws....you need to strengthen yours.
