Hi..I'm a junior in high school and I fully plan on going into music...most likely music education. I live in southwest Ohio around Dayton....I am considering school such as CCM, Miami, or BGSU, among others. I know most of these schools don't require one to play orchestral exceprts for the audition, but I think it would be a good idea to have some of the major ones under my belt. My private teacher told me to get a book of exceprts, but I won't see her for a few weeks. I was just wondering what would be a good book of exceprts to get? From reading on these boards, I've seen a lot of talk about Bonade Orhcestral Excerpts, but I wasn't totally sure if there was a 'best' book to get. I am currently principle chair in the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and we are playing Overture to Candide, Young Person's Guide to Orchestra, and Shostakovich's Polka from the Golden Age, among a few other pieces. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You should get copies of The Orchestra Musician's CD-Rom Library
http://www.orchmusiclibrary.com
Any music store can order you a copy
It comes for multiple instruments, make sure you specify 'clarinet' when ordering.
