Does the Solo De Concour by Messager have an orchestra accompaniment? I know there is a band accompaniment but not sure if there's an orchestra. Thanks

Hi Elizabeth,
While not at all claiming to be a clarinet scholar, I did not find any mention of an orchestral accompaniment in the David Daniels Orchestral Music Handbook, Third Edition. Also, after having searched several CD retail sites, I can report to you that I did not find any with the orchestral accompaniment there either. It could mean that there is none or very rare, if any. I just did not want to see your question go unanswered, so I offer this contribution! Good luck!

Southern Music shows the Rabaud in both orchestral and band versions. However, the Messager is only in their band rental list. I suggest you contact them directly. Their phone number and e-mail address are at:

The one time I had occasion to call, I found the person I talked to friendly and helpful.
Best regards,
jnk

Kalmus had one listed in their orchestra catalog a few years ago. I believe the arrangement was done by a Brit.
