 Vandoren sold?

I just heard news from one of my store reps that Vandoren was recently sold. Any truth to this news? And, who bought them? My rep didn't know.

Not quite. The Music Group sold Rico to D'Addario. D'Addario was the US distributor for Vandoren. Obviously the two lines couldn't coexist, so Vandoren now has their exclusive US distribution through DANSR.
