Tis the season... to Damp-It. And Bam case
Author: contragirl

I just got a new double Bam case. In green!! YAY!

Number one question: It has that "new from the factory foam" smell. I kept the case open for a night to air out. It won't stay long, will it? My clarinets are starting to smell like it. ew

Number two question: I've had my damp it for a while, but never used it. I decided to water it up last night. In a Bam case, it shouldn't case mold or mildew, should it?

I just don't want to mess up my stuff.

Thanks,
Contragirl

I wouldn't think it would damage the case. You put it inside the horn, right? I use the old fashioned sponge-in-a-pill-bottle-with-holes-in-it humidifier and it doesn't damage the inside of my cases or cause any mildew. You should be fine.
