 need help with contra

i was just asked to play the contra and i cant put it together :S... i put it together last night and the bottom keys wouldnt go down...

What kinds is it? The straight Leblancs need to have everything fit perfectly in the middle. The levers on the side must match up correctly. I don't know about any other brands of contras.

If this is a "broken" horn, with upper and lower joints, then it sounds like the component of one of the "bridge" keys on the upper joint has been slid under the corresponding component on the lower joint. Perhaps not the "rings" bridge, but the one that triggers the "octave" key mechanism switch instead.

Not common, but not impossible to do either.
