Hi all, i'm looking for California Dreamin' sheet music for Bb clarinet..
I know that I can probably order it from sheetmusicplus, but I don't want to wait for shipping or pay for shipping for such a smaller order anyway..
Is there a website that I can buy and download instantly?
Thanks!
George

It is unlikely as this piece is new enough that it should still be under copyright. Therefore if a local store does not carry it, you will need to mail order it..

Thank you very much, David. But this looks like it's for the guitar. Is there a way I can convert this to clarinet?
Thanks.

Yeah. You get some staff paper and with a pencil you copy out the melody line. Or you print it out and than take a scissors and cut out the melody portion and glue / tape it onto plain paper so it's in a more readable form, then photocopy that. The original *cut and paste*.
The tune is not that long. In the time it would take you to research and download a program to do it for you (if indeed there is one) you could have copied it down yourself.

Looking at it again, you might want to write out two copies: one for the melody and one for the counter-melody (higher notes below the melody on the treble clef) so you have something for someone else to play along with you.
Are you having trouble figuring out which notes belong to the melody and which to the counter melody and the bass line?

I would gladly do that, but i'm new to reading music and i'm not sure which of the notes I should actually copy out. There are as many as 3 notes in some beats.
I'm not asking anyone to redo it for me, I'd just like to know what level I should be reading.. or any other info that would help.
Thanks.

The original words:
"All the reeds are brown,
and the mouthpiece gray...
Practiced for a while
on my old Buffet......
If I didn't fix it,
it would leak today....
Clarinetta Dreamin'
on such a winter's day...
etc.

Verse 2
Stopped into a store,
to buy a new Buffet...
Well I tried out all the horns,
but none would really play...
You know the salesman tried to sway me,
But I just ran away.
Clarinetta dreamin'...
I won't be buyin' today.

I hate the flute solo on the original --- quarter-tone flat in the lower register, quarter-tone sharp in the upper register.

Hi,
Verse 3
Bought some brand new reeds
And a mouthpiece too...
Lookin' for "the sound"
That was really new
Solid, focused center
Couldn't get the tune
Clarinetist's dreamin'
I'll try out barrels soon
