I am looking for a duet for flute and clarinet, or flute, clarinet & piano that would be fun and accessible to an audience for a 90th birthday doo. In other words something that isn't too modern.
Thanks
Stu

Two suggestions that might fit the bill -
Shostakovich Waltzes. Great set of pieces.
1 is clar solo, 2 is flute solo, 3 and 4 are duets (all accomp by piano) - copy and paste this link to hear samples.

Another suggestion for very easy listening and playing is :-
Waltz and Interlude by Clare Grundman (7-8 mins duration) - nice piece with answering figures.
Good Luck

Consider Himie Voxman's 78 Duets for Flute and Clarinet . In 2 volumes, each about $8-10; lots of music to choose from. Pieces in vol 2 are harder than than in vol. 1; all the pieces are 'classical'; not pop, ballads, movie music, etc.

I was going to say the Muczynski duet...until I saw "nothing too modern." Maybe a Beethoven duet. They're out there, I've played them, but I can't remember who published them. They're nice and roughly 5 minutes.

For a 90th birthday doo! Hits from the 1920s....
