The website looks EXACTLY the same and the same products are on sale in the outlet store.

It's not "disguised" really; it's the Internet arm of the ww&bw (and was a web site before being on eBay).

one of the sales reps at ww&bw told me that wwbw.com and music123.com were owned by different branches of the same family - which is why the web sites are almost identical, as are the posted prices

This has been discussed several times. Do a search. SAME COMPANY.
In the past, Music 1-2-3 has had a physical (store) presence in Philiadelphia. Not a WW&BW store. Early on all Music 1-2-3 shipped all their goods from New Jersey - that was approx. 7+ years ago.

In fact, Music 123 shipped me a piano from their Cherry Hill, NJ (suburban Philly) address in early 2001, and charged me NJ sales tax on it (I live in NJ.)

Music123 was the store ZAPFS which was in Phila, Conshohocken, and Cherry Hill.
They were taken over by Woodwindbrasswind when Zapfs bit the dust.

Yep, that's the one.
Remember there "Going out of Business" sale, where new products were arriving daily? It was like the last plane out of Saigon in there.
I remember their prices as being higher than mail order, but at least their guitar-playing staff was abusive!
I wonder if they kept Harley on in NJ? He was a solid guy, sax player.
For my money, I would sooner buy from the Muncys - they make time for us.
The rest seem to hire anyone that can type and answer the telephone.

Zapfs in Conshohocken was fine - was a whole lot better than Music & Arts which bought them out.
Muncy is great and always has been. I've never had a problem with WWBW either.
