After a long, mostly boring summer, I'm finally getting back to music classes! 20 hours of 'em. . .well, 3 of them are in the form of an education class. I can't wait! I'm learning Variations sur un air du pays d'oc by Cahuzac, which is extremely enjoyable.
Later this semester Robert Spring will be teaching another master class. I'm certainly looking forward to that.
I might have practiced the clarinet twice over the summer - most of my time was spent learning the flute. The strange thing is that after playing a half hour or so and getting back into the groove, I seemed to be playing better than I did at the end of last semester. I guess a small sabbatical is actually good. It refreshes the mind.

You got that right ... in the days I played professionally, I looked forward to the summer break for that very reason.
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.
