My high school band is terrible. I'll just come out and say it. We have a total of 19 people, split into two class periods because of crazy scheduling problems. And the instrumentation is not good at all. Playing with them is discouraging sometimes (ok, a lot of times) It almost makes me want to quit. (part of the reason I was having second thoughts about playing a couple of months ago; some of you may remember)
ANYWAY... playing in college will be tons better... I know that. But I want to make sure that I enter a really good program. How do I find out which schools have excellent music programs? I mean, what kinds of questions should I ask, or what should I look for so that I know I won't be disappointed?

Nicki,
I thought we had gone over all this when we answered your quesitons about music education. Didn't you pick a Christian school in Illinois?
IMHO, there is a lot of good advice in the messages that were in response to your previous posts. You need to probably follow up on those suggestions before asking the same questions in a slightly different manner.

n_hanson12...
Hank and others took the time to answer (in depth) many of the concerns you have, in some of your previous postings over the past 3 months.
Here is one thread you started, where some excellent advice was offered:
http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=148292&t=148292
A search under your name (sorted by date - newest to oldest) will yield other postings which are similar.
Read through some of the helpful information which was given to you and keep us informed how things are going...GBK
