Hello all. I love the vibe of this board. I always check in to see what information is being shared and it is always a great experience. I'm doing 40 observation hours in the classroom this semester in an amazing K-12 school district out in the country near where I go to school. We have an intense need for clarinet equipment among other things and lots of kids want to play, but the schools and the families don't have the money for it. If you have any grants you've successfully applied for or heard of that people have applied for shoot them to me. My mentor teacher and I would love to be able to get all of our kids the equipment they need to be involved in making music.

I have many student model clarinets lying around but some need repair work. I can send them if there is a repair shop near by.

I play Bass clarinet with the band at a local K-12 church school (as a guest, I'm 74). The band teacher gets quite a few instruments from the Goodwill auction site. (shopgoodwill.com). The prices can be reasonable. The ones that need repair he fixes. He's acquired quite a few instruments this way and it really helps as the program doesn't have a very large budget. I picked up a vintage (1925) a low pitch C wood clarinet that looks like it has hardly been used with the original (and functional) wooden mouth piece from the this sight. The instruments vary in quality from very good to table lamp. Give it a look, it might be helpful.
