What's your favorite edition of the Mozart Requiem, and why? Especially from a wind part perspective (although choral writing qualities also of interest).
Yesterday, I had a mind altering experience listening to a recording of the Duncan Druce edition (Roger Norrington (?) conducting). I had to remind myself many times that "this is not Mozart's actual writing." So much of the non-Mozart reconstructions just seemed so true to the master - reminding me of his great Opera wind parts.
Especially the Benedictus, which has lovely basset horn accompanyment worthy of Non Piu di Fiori.
Any other similarly good editions? Or does anyone not like the Druce edition?

I'm glad you mentioned the Duncan Druce edition, as not many people seem to know about it. I have played the Mozart "Requiem" 50 times and every time it has been the usual Sussmayr edition. I'm still longing to have a go at the Druce edition!
