I puchased a copy of The metamorphosis of the Lord Jesus last night, a monunmental work for just about everything (except the kitchen sink). There is the most sublime wind writting and, especially, the most wonderous writting for solo clarinet .... has anyone ever heard this work live??
Here's what it's scored for:
La Transfiguration de Notre Seigneur Jésus -
Choir: s.s.m-s.a.t.t.bar.b.b (10 voices per part).
Orch: piano solo, cello solo, flute solo, clarinet solo, xylorimba solo, vibraphone solo, marimba solo;
5.4.5.4; (winds)
6.4.4.2; (brass)
6 perc; (bangers)
16.16.14.12.12. (strings)

I don't get it... is it a clarinet concerto or just a piece with a good clarinet solo (I haven't heard the piece)?
