To "throw another cl mp into our considerations", my having only curiousity, there is a "thread" on www.mouthpiecework@yahoogroups.com . inquiring about a Mike Carruba [New Orleans] mp and giving an EBAY listing for an auction, mentioning Eddie Daniels, Jazz? I make mention because only a few of us may see it and we have discussed Jazz mps often.. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Hmmm, interesting, but I coldn't find any eBay listing nor could I get to the link you gave. Just what we need, however.........'nuther convaluted mouthpiece choice.
BTW--and a bit off the subject--I just discovered that a Legere #3.25 (regular cut) works great on my Gregory Smith "Cicero" model mouthiece. And, I am now using Legeres on my low C bass clarinet, my effer and C clarinets, and all of my "jazz" instruments (saxes and two R13 Bbs--one with the Smith "Cicero").
FWIW--my mouthpieces: Buffet Prestige bass clar--Grabner CXSB; Yamaha effer--Selmer HS**; C clar--WW G-8 customized by Glenn Bowen; Selmer Tenor--Guardala "Studio"; Selmer Alto--"Hollywood" Gregory; R13s--WW G8, custom Bowen and Gregory Smith "Cicero". All with Legere reeds!!!
(still use V12s for my "serious" orchestral and wind ensemble playing)

TKS Wm - for all that good info, my recall of trying a number of OLD synthetic reeds [among my junk] is/was unfavorable due to "feel", too-brite-tonality etc. I have several boxes of [cane] soft tenor sax and alto sax reeds and reed trimmers, so I just muddle along "clipping down the highway" . Some day? before the grand finale I'll "grow up to date" , like "Modern Times" perhaps. The link on my MP Work E-Mail works well for me, otherwise prob. a search for Carruba with? mouthpiece/clarinet etc should find it. I threw in a bid, just prospecting again! Luck, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
