Finally, computer technology has given us something useful for a change!
Anybody ever used the Music Pad Pro? Is it as wonderful as it seems? I remember watching a Harry Connick Jr. special on Thanksgiving and his band was using these.
There's an article in today's New York Times at http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/20/technology/circuits/20musi.html?8hpib.
For those who don't care to register with the Times, product information is at http://www.freehandsystems.com/products.html..

I also read the article. I certainly welcome such a technological advance. Also the ease of carrying many pieces of music in one electronic version. Its transposition feature. Fabulous!
One drawback, how to mark or correct the score? Add breath marks?
I won't get rid of my scores just yet.

You can make all kinds of markings on the score, add breath marks, change notes, etc. You then save them as a new file, keeping the original clean and untouched.

It "makes learning and performing music fun!"
Sorry, I had to share that quote from the video.
Otherwise, looks pretty cool. I'll probably wait for a few generations to pass for the technology to mature (a two-pager, perhaps), but very cool nonetheless.
