 Schumann Fantasiestücke Op.73 for Clarinet and Piano

I need to right up program notes for my upcoming senior recital. Does anybody have any background on the this piece? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Wouldn't you learn more (the process, as well as the information) by doing it yourself?

The information is readily available in libraries, through books, periodicals and recorded media, as well as (gasp) on-line.

A logical place to start might be the archives on this site ...GBK

I did try the library at my school. I could only find history on schumann and not really anything on the piece except that it was written in 1849.
