The Clark W Fobes San Francisco line of mouthpieces has several different facings, including AP, CF, and RR. What are the differences?

Clark is the very best person to explain the differences, don't you think? Why not drop him a line & report what he tells you back here? I know for sure he answers all his email.

Hm, yeah. I'll do so once I find his e-mail address, I've been looking for it on clarkwfobes.com and have so far been unsuccessful. I did, however, find this:

 http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/MBL/Mouthpiece.html

...which was written by him and answers about half of my question. Once I learn what all that info means in practical terms, I'll be sure to post it.

Here's the answer I got from him, after asking what the different facings meant in terms of practicality:

Yes the different facings have different tip openings.

 CF 1.70mm
 RR 1.80mm
 AP 1.90mm
 HB 2.00mm

If you were to play the same reed on each mouthpiece they would feel progressively more resistant as you increased the tip opening.

Most players like my RR. it seems to be right in the middle and accepts a lot of reeds.
