I recently disassembled my clarinet and noticed some of the screws were magnetic. Whats the purpose of the magnetism? Or does it just happen to be the alloy they use that causes them to become magnetic?
Thanks in advance,
AET

Instead of the screws being pre-magnetized, it may be that the screw driver you were using was magnetized, and that the use of same magnetized the screws. It's happened to me with automotive stuff, so I would imagine that the little pivot screws on our clarinets would do the same in similar circumstances.

Some screwdrivers have magnetized tips. Do the screws attach to the refridgerator?
