Thanks!

Local orchestras or colleges with a clarinet professor, perhaps? I would imagine Sacramento is populated enough to support one or more colleges or orchestras with a professional clarinetist....try asking around (not necesarily just clarinetists), and if one or more persons keep getting recomended, that could be a good sign; someone to at least consider.

Or, if you are willing to drive to San Francisco, I think the clarinetists from the SF Symphony do some teaching.

Try www.musicstaff.com and /or www.privatelessons.com. Just make sure you interview them to see if they are a good fit for your needs.

Hi, Andy --

I'm taking a night class at Sac State Uni (instrument repair, of all things - in the music bldg. :) ). Our evening class this week was a few minutes late getting started because we were caught up listening to the orchestra rehearsal (Wow!). They sound good, Good, GOOD :)

Sac State turns out lots of teachers in all subjects. I'm sure you could find someone in the music dept. qualified to teach or who could send you in the right direction to help you find someone in your area. If you live in Chico, you're about 2 1/2 hrs away from here. Unless you just love driving long distances (considering today's gas prices), contact me off the BB if you like and I'll round up a phone number or two for you next week.
