I was wondering if anyone on the BBoard had a Leblanc of this vintage? One has appeared on ebay; the vendor says it is model #101 and was made around 1938, and that he has used it a lot for jazz - he bought it from a pro player in America. I'd like to find out more about this particular model.
I've done a search and found lots of info on various Leblancs, but nothing on this one. Can anyone help?

Joanna - I believe the LeB I found for a son is from this era, when LeB was starting to "invade" the US market. His has [and does yours have?] the "jump" trill keys as shown in one of the earliest of LeB's US patents, 1,926,489 [1933] {see www.uspto.gov} or just ask for a description. For his son [my grandson] I found a "Classic" model 1950's I believe, to me it was nearly the same. Good bidding luck. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Thanks for the info, Don! I don't think I can really afford any more clarinets at the moment - I've bought three off ebay since mid-December (Buffet E13A, Imperial 926 and Selmer 10G) and funds are now rather low!! This particular one is on a Buy-it-Now anyway and is more than I'd like to pay, but I was interested in finding out about it.
I've got a nice little flock of clarinets at the moment - modest in number compared to lots of people on the BBoard, I know, but then I originally thought I wouldn't want more than my Peter Eaton - but it's so interesting playing all these different ones........
