I have heard somewhere that B-12 keys are the same as R-13 keys. Would the B-12 keys be cast and the R-13 be forged but of the same design specs?
So that would make R-13 keys fit perfectly on a B-12. Just in case something happens to my B-12 keys I would really like forged ones. Since a B-12 is so cheap I assume they are cast.
Any help, ideas, or info? Thanks
Forged keys on an ABS body would make it probably the toughest clarinet. And it plays so nicely.

NO! These clarinets have absolutely deferent, not interchangeable keys.

At least the thumbrest of an R13 is cast - mine snapped and couldn't simply be soldered together again because it was a brittle cast metal. Looked like pewter, but it wasn't, can't remember what the guy said it was sorry.

The material used to form the keys is pressed under huge pressure to shape it and increase strength, and the keys are cut with computer-guided precision machine tools at Buffet's main factory in Mantes-la-Ville. The factory supplies keys for both professional and student models, and I would guess that any differences are in the finish. The thumb rest on my RC seems to be made of the same material as the keys.
