I've been lucky enough to get hold of a batch of a new cut of reeds from Gonzales to try.
I don't think they're available yet but when they are I highly recommend you to give them a try.
I've only quite recently been converted to the FOF and I find these new ones suit me even better. They're called Gonzales RC (regular cut) (red carton?) and the quality of the cane is excellent (as on the FOF) making them very consistent. The cut is very different, being wider but thinner at the butt-end and not so rounded at the tip. They play very well giving a clear dark sound and retaining a remarkable ease of blowing.
I assume Davie Cane will be distributing them. I've had difficulty getting hold of FOF's here in the UK there is only ONE shop which stocks them (Howarth's) I'd like everyone to go and pester their local music-store to keep these in stock. I promise you they're well worth a go.
